The Optique Nonlineaire Theorique (ONT) group at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) has co-directed the first European research network (1984-86) and has participated to four successive IAP-Interuniversity Attraction Poles of the Belgian Government (1987-91, 1992-96, 1997-2001, and 2002-06).
It has directed the first three and was responsible for all laser dynamical activities in the last one.
The main expertise of the ONT group is analytical approaches that allow finding relevant information from the laser equations. During the last 10 years, the ONT group has strived to develop the most promising themes in nonlinear optics, collaborating with several laboratories in the world. Since 2005, the group has started to publish on the quantum dot lasers tanks to the collaboration with the experimental group of G. Huyet at Cork. Since 2007, it has intensified its activities on this topic on the rate equation modelling and stability analyses. |
